Hi all,
The summer will be gone before we know it and for those of us here at Hells Canyon Sport Fishing we have 6 months of nonstop Salmon and Steelhead fishing to look forward to. In fact our Astoria Salmon Fishing start in less than 3 weeks (which I still have dates I need to fill by the way!). But before we get busy I wanted to let everyone know that I have been working on some different arrangements for our lodging this season for Hells Canyon which will start mid September. It has taken me 3 years of negotiations to accomplish this and finally this year we are now moving our operation upriver about a mile to the facility at Garden Cr. Ranch. This ranch which was established in the 1920’s as an operating sheep ranch is now owned by the Nature Conservancy and leased to Butch & Debby Odegard, our new hosts. There are many benefits to be gained by moving to this facility such as unlimited power & water, they have a year round creek that runs a 15kw turbine! (no more problems with bringing breathing machines), Now I can run good freezers for fish, have satellite Internet, a very large boat dock (no more anchoring out the boats at night), better running truck on hand (I have had so much trouble with that old Jeep!), no need to haul gas, propane, or diesel, also a working local phone number telephone we can use and a road that accesses Lewiston (only in the case of an emergency).
With all the irrigation water there is green grass, plant and tree everywhere. There are two cabins, an upper and a lower, and the large ranch house which we will be using to lodge our clients. Overall much more of a facility to work with and just the fact that it is so wonderfully maintained makes the place look much more professional. I am super excited about how much smoother this will help me run my business. I have ran several trips based out of here in the past and all the clients loved the place. I went up this week to take a bunch of pictures for you all to see and have included them in this e-mail.
The Ranch has a large orchard which is always full of deer and turkeys. The cost of the package trips will not increase for the 2009-10 season and for those of you whom already have your dates booked everything will stay as planned, we will just be moving to this better location. I am sure there will be questions so just shoot me an e-mail or a call on my cell 208-305-4549. If anyone need to take a look at the Garden Cr. Site before season I would be happy to accommodate you by setting up a time to go up and take a look. Until then take care and tight lines!

Thanks and Fish On!!!!!
